Finally a sunny day!

After days and days of rain finally we woke to sunshine.

So on with boots because the ground is still so sodden and there are puddles everywhere and off we went.

It’s not far to Mackay Reserve but we’re not fast walkers and going down the “Stairway to Heaven” was slippery steep. Take it steady, carefully. Even so I slid on some clay and clutched at a shrub to steady myself. Big mistake.

It was a baby Cabbage Tree Palm that had been trimmed. They have small barbs on the stems of their fronds, so on we went with a couple of scratched fingers to be rewarded with good cake and coffee on Barrenjoey Road.
