Day 4 Mildura to Mungo National Park - European settlement

The track towards Xanci Station

The homestead ruins. They also built dugouts into the ground to escape some of the heat.

Water tank and old stand

The stables. There's a lot of drop log construction. Logs are dropped in between two uprights, requiring no nails.

Shearing shed. Inside it had excellent information on aluminium pages.

Looking back towards the shearing shed from near the sheep dip.

Mungo shearing shed. Eighteen stands. Prior to the electric stands, up to 30 shearers using blades.

Dug out well lined with timber to collect rainwater from the roof. Amazingly deep, and now roofed to stop people or animals falling in.
